Ben Mearhart – Head (Joint)
Ben has an M.Ed in Educational Leadership (University of Buckingham), Qualified Teacher Status (University of Kent), a BA in Drama with English (University of Exeter), a BA: Certificate in Dance Education (The Royal Academy of Dance, London) and a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity College, London).
An English, Drama and Physical Education specialist, he has been teaching in Primary Schools since 2003. He comes to us from Cranbrook School (Essex), last judged by Ofsted as being a Good school with Outstanding features. There he progressed from being Learning Support Co-ordinator, to Head of Key Stage Two and Deputy-Head of the Prep. School before becoming Deputy-Head of the School (3-18 yrs.) and Head of the Prep. School (3-11 yrs.).
Ines Saltalamacchia – Head (Joint)
Ines has been involved in the project La Scuola Italiana a Londra since March 2006, first as Trustee and, once the School opened, in the management of the School.
She graduated in Philosophy at the Università degli Studi in Milan, where she also took a MSc in Information and Communication Technology for Human Sciences. She worked as editor and website editor at the Einaudi Scuola Editorial office in Milan. From 2001 to 2004 she worked as a researcher at the Università degli Studi in Milan and at King’s College London, obtaining a PhD in Logic. Ines is currently a Governor of Salusbury Primary School.

Silvia Gattoli – Italian SSI teacher (Years 6, 7 and 8) – Italian, History, Geography and Latin
Silvia has a degree in Modern Literature and is fully qualified to teach Italian, History, Geography and PSCHEE in the Italian SSI and Italian, Latin and Classic Greek in the Italian Secondary Schools. She also has a Ditals Certificate and a Ditals Masters (to teach Italian as a foreign language).
Silvia has several years of experience as an SSI teacher in Italy.
Vito La Ghezza – Italian SSI teacher (Years 6, 7 and 8) – Maths, Science and DT & SSI Co-ordinator
Vito has a degree in Biological Sciences, a Masters in Agricultural Chemistry and is fully qualified to teach Maths, Science, Chemistry and DT in the Italian SSI. He also has a Masters in Education Technologies and a Masters in ‘Nature and Science: Epistemology and Didactics’ (level II).
Vito has several years of experience as an SSI and young adults’ teacher in Italy.
Oliver Rose – English SSI teacher (Years 6, 7 and 8) – English
Oliver studied at Cranleigh School and went on to read English at Corpus Christi, Cambridge graduating with a First-class degree.
Oliver has been tutoring or teaching for over ten years. He has in-school teaching experience in English and Drama at Sherborne School (Secondary School) in Dorset and several years of experience in tutoring with the private tutoring agency Keystone.

Barbara Attinà – Italian KS1 teacher (Years 1 and 2)
Barbara has a degree in Primary Education from the University of Milano-Bicocca and is also specialised in teaching SEN (Specific Educational Needs)
Before joining us, Barbara worked in Milan as a Primary Teacher and as an Italian teacher for the Department of Education of the Italian Consulate in London.
Suzanne Draycott – English KS2 teacher (Years 3, 4 and 5) – also supporting our SSI – Assistant Head Teacher and KS2 Co-ordinator
Suzanne has a B.Ed Hons (Bachelor of Education) from the University of Southampton and an R.E. Certificate in Catholic Education.

Stefano Nero – Italian KS2 teacher (Years 3, 4 and 5) and specialist Drama teacher
Stefano qualified as a Primary teacher in Lamezia Terme (Italy) and then graduated in Italian Language with a specialization in Drama in Bologna.
Before coming to us, Stefano worked in Bologna as a Primary teacher for 10 years.
Junette Norman – English KS2 teacher (Years 3, 4 and 5) – also supporting our SSI
Junette has a degree in English and Creative Writing from Brunel University and is a Secondary education English specialist.
Junette has several years of experience as a Primary teacher, working in St. George’s Primary School and Prendergast Vale College (London) and as a Y8-Y10 teacher at Ark All Saints (London).
Serena Olmeda – Italian KS2 teacher (Years 3, 4 and 5) – Deputy KS1&2 Co-ordinator & Staff Governor
Serena has a degree in Primary Education and a degree in Modern Literature.
Serena has worked for several years as a Primary teacher and as a SEN teacher in Italy and, since she moved to London in 2013, as an Italian teacher for the Department of Education at the Italian Consulate in London.
Katherine Whiteside – English KS1 teacher (Years 1 and 2) – KS1 Co-ordinator
Katherine has a BA Hons. in Linguistics from the University of Leeds and a Certificate in English Language Teaching.
She has strong experience as a Primary teacher and ESL (English as second language) teacher working in various primary schools in the UK, Australia, USA and Italy, including international and bilingual schools and a specialist school for children with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.

Franca Boschi – Italian EYFS teacher
Franca graduated as a Nursery and Early Years school teacher in Bologna (Italy) and when she arrived in London she obtained the NVQ level 2 in Childcare Education at Westminster College.
She worked as a teacher of Nursery and Early Years schools in Bologna (Scuola Pianoro and other state schools) and Rome (Gioca e Crea, for which she was responsible for the opening of the Nursery and Early Years School). In London she was a teacher for Early Years and Nursery in the Little House Nursery and Lancefield Nursery.
She also currently teaches Italian at Francis Holland School to GCSE and A-level students.
Linda Elfrey – English EYFS teacher – EYFS Co-ordinator (Joint)
Linda graduated at Middlesex University in Business Information Systems with Combined Studies and has also obtained an NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
She has worked for several years as a teacher in Nursery and Early Years schools in London.
Merlica Elfrey – English EYFS teacher
Merlica is fully qualified in Childcare Education.

Alessia Sbicca – Italian EYFS teacher – EYFS Co-ordinator (Joint)
Alessia has a BA in Oriental Languages and Cultures, an MA in Teaching Foreign Languages and a Ditals Certificate (to teach Italian as a foreign language).
She has experience as a Nursery Teacher and an Italian and Chinese Teacher. Since 2014 she has been working as an Italian Teacher for the Department of Education at the Italian Consulate.

Mariana Gregorio – EAL & IAL specialist teacher and TA
Mariana possesses a BA in Italian from the University of Reading, a Certificate in teaching Italian as a foreign language and the CELTA qualification to teach English as a foreign laguage.
She has experience in teaching both English and Italian as foreign languages.

Samantha Norte – English TA
Samantha has a BA in Communication Studies and Film Studies (Middlesex University) and the CELTA qualification (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages).
For the last 4 years Samantha has taught English as a second language at Cavendish House in Portugal, teaching groups of students at mixed levels and of different age groups.
Lorenzo Perrelli – English TA
Lorenzo has studied at the bilingual Italian school Guglielmo Marconi of New York and is fully bilingual (Italian and English). He has a degree in Political Studies (Università degli Studi Uniroma 3) and a Master degree in Journalism (Westminster University).
Before coming to us, Lorenzo has worked as freelance journalist, video producer and as visiting lecturer e teaching assistant at the Westminster University.
Tiziana Pizzi – Italian TA
Tiziana arrives with a Bachelor Degree in Education Sciences from the University of Roma 3 (Rome).
She has experience as a childminder, EYFS educator and teaching assistant both in Italy and the UK.

Angelina Samanya – English TA
Angelina has a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Nottingham and a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification. She is also currently training to teach on a PGCE course at Goldsmiths, University of London.
She has ample experience in teaching in a variety of settings, including as a teacher in two primary schools in London and as a conversation (language) assistant in Spain.
Eleonora Strangis – Well-Being Supervisor
Eleonora has a Teaching Graduation Diploma (Including Foundation Year), a BS in Health Professional Educator SNT/2 (Health Professions for Rehabilitation – University of Turin), a Masters Degree in Educational Studies (University of Messina) and a Vocational Training Certificate in Social Education. Further qualifications include: Expert in Smile Therapy, Attention Autism Workshop, Learning disability Theatre and recovery, Makaton Signing Training, Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, Counselling Children, Son-Rise Programme, Practical Autism Training For Support Assistants and Elements Of Art Therapy.
Eleonora has worked as a Health Professional Educator in the Children’s Residential Home of Turin, as a Special Needs Teacher in a Primary School and EYFS in Italy and London, as a SEN/Inclusion Teaching Assistant in a primary school in London and, for the last two years, as a Multi Therapy Assistant (SLT, OT, PT) in Neuroscience Paediatrics at King’s College Hospital (London).

Fabrizio Bonacci – Specialist Guitar teacher
Fabrizio has been teaching classical, acoustic and electric guitar as well as music theory and harmony to children (both individually and in groups) for over 10 years.
His teaching experience covers a variety of different levels, from beginners to advanced learners. When appropriate he can also prepare students for external exams.
Christabel Forbes – Specialist Art Teacher (EYFS, Primary and SSI)
Christabel has a BA (Hons.) in Fine Art from Falmouth University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Drawing and Tutor Training both from the Royal Drawing School of London.
Christabel has several years of experience as an Art Teacher in selected London Primary schools.
Souheila Haimiche – Specialist French teacher (Primary and SSI)
Souhelia has a Bachelor’s degree in Languages from London Metropolitan University and has been working as a French and Spanish teacher in both primary and secondary schools in London.
She is also a translator and interpreter in French, Spanish and English.
Dawn Rolt – Specialist Music Teacher (EYFS, Primary and SSI) and piano, recorder and singing teacher
Dawn has been a primary music teacher for over 25 years. For many of these years she taught at Pembridge Hall School, whilst also setting up and running music departments in two other emerging London day schools.
She is a keen singer and recorder player and regularly accompanies children on the piano in concerts and exams. In addition to teaching at the Italian School, she has a private practice, directs three children’s choirs and teaches part time in a local Catholic state school.
Wanat T. – Specialist Violin teacher
Mr. Wanat has been teaching in schools for over 10 years.
He prepares students for external exams when appropriate and is equally happy working with beginners and advanced learners.

Carla Noli – School Administrator
Carla has a BA in Business Management Administration and an MSc in Business Management from the University of Cagliari (Italy) and an Msc in Finance and Strategic Management from the University of Coimbra (Portugal).
Carla has worked as a marketing assistant and trade analyst in several companies in Italy and Spain.
Lara Rosset – Office Assistant
Lara has a NVQ in Business and Administration.
Before coming to us she worked as an office assistant and apprentice business administrator in London.

Jenny Randazzo – Chef
Jenny has NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality and Professional Cookery and NVQ Level 3 in Supervising Food Safety in Catering and a certificate in Nutrition For Children.
She worked as Chef and Head Chef in restaurants and came to us from running a restaurant in a Garden Centre just outside London.
Jenny earned the highest accolade for our kitchen from the hygiene inspector who awarded her the full 5 stars.
Paolo Solazzo – Chef Assistant
Paolo studied at the Istituto Albeghiero Paolo Borsellino in Palermo. In London he obtained his SIA (Security Industry Authority) door supervisor licence from Green Man Security and NVQ Level 2 in Food Safety for Catering.
He has worked for six years at an Italian restaurant in Surrey and before joining SIAL he worked as a SIA security officer.
Raluca Sozanskyj – School Caretaker
Raluca graduated at University of Nottingham in Architecture and Built Environment.
Before coming to us Raluca has been working as a children camp counsellor, life guard and sailing instructor in Texas (USA) and as a Primary school helper in Le Mans (France).
