The history of La Scuola Italiana a Londra began in 2005, when a group of Italian citizens reached out to the large community of Italians living in London to gauge interest in setting up an Italian school. To read more click here.
In July 2007 we set up the charity La Scuola Italiana a Londra (Reg. Charity n.1119966), which allowed us to start raising funds to open a school. Since September 2010, when the school officially opened, the Board of Trustees has managed the business side of the school and supports its continual development through a fundraising campaign. In fact, parents pay school fees to cover the running costs of the school but the rest is covered by fundraising operations as our aim is to keep fees below the normal rates of British Independent Schools and to offer as many bursaries as possible (today two of our children are on full bursaries).
The School is delighted to have the Patronage of the Italian Embassy as can been seen from the official letter.
