Mearhart Ben – Head (Joint)

benBen has an M.Ed in Educational Leadership (University of Buckingham), Qualified Teacher Status (University of Kent), a BA in Drama with English (University of Exeter), a BA: Certificate in Dance Education (The Royal Academy of Dance, London) and a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity College, London).

An English, Drama and Physical Education specialist, he has been teaching in Primary Schools since 2003. He comes to us from Cranbrook School (Essex), last judged by Ofsted as being a Good school with Outstanding features. There he progressed from being Learning Support Co-ordinator, to Head of Key Stage Two and Deputy-Head of the Prep. School before becoming Deputy-Head of the School (3-18 yrs.) and Head of the Prep. School (3-11 yrs.).

Saltalamacchia Ines – Head (Joint)

ines-may13Ines has been involved in the project La Scuola Italiana a Londra since March 2006, first as Trustee and, once the School opened, in the management of the School.

She graduated in Philosophy at the Università degli Studi in Milan, where she also took a MSc in Information and Communication Technology for Human Sciences. She worked as editor and website editor at the Einaudi Scuola Editorial office in Milan. From 2001 to 2004 she worked as a researcher at the Università degli Studi in Milan and at King’s College London, obtaining a PhD in Logic. Ines is currently a Governor of Salusbury Primary School.

Draycott Suzanne – KS1&2 Co-ordinator and English KS2 teacher (Year 3, 4 and 5)

profiloSuzanne has a B.Ed Hons (Bachelor of Education) from the University of Southampton and an R.E. Certificate in Catholic Education.

She has been teaching in Primary Schools since 1996. Before coming to us in September 2014 Suzanne was Head of KS2 at Cranbrook School. spazio spazio spazio spazio spazio

Giasi Melania – Italian KS2 teacher (Year 3, 4 and 5)

IMG_5952Melania graduated in Naples and obtained a degree in Primary Education at the University of Bologna. She specialises in assisted learning for those with disabilities and in teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Before moving to London to join us, Melania worked in Bologna as both a Primary and Nursery/Early Years Teacher.

Nero Stefano – Italian KS2 teacher (Year 3, 4 and 5) and specialist Drama teacher

IMG_6013Stefano qualified as a Primary teacher in Lamezia Terme (Italy) and then graduated in Italian Language with a specialization in Drama in Bologna.

Before coming to us, Stefano worked in Bologna as a Primary teacher for 10 years.

Olmeda Serena – Italian KS1 teacher (Year 1 and 2)

IMG_6062Serena has a degree in Primary Education and a degree in Modern Literature.

Serena has worked for several years as a Primary teacher and as a SEN teacher in Italy and, since she moved to London in 2013, as an Italian teacher for the Department of Education of the Italian Consulate in London.

Whiteside Katherine – English KS2 teacher (Year 3, 4 and 5)

katieKatherine has a BA Hons. in Linguistics from the University of Leeds and a Certificate in English Language Teaching.

She has strong experience as a Primary teacher and ESL (English as second language) teacher working in various primary schools in the UK, Australia, USA and Italy, including international and bilingual schools and a specialist school for children with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.

Wright Laura – English KS1 teacher (Year 1 and 2)

laura-WLaura has a BEd. Hons. (Bachelor of Education) from the University of New England (Australia) and a Graduate Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

Before joining our team she has worked for several years as a KS1 and ESL (English as second language) teacher in London.

Elfrey Linda – English Reception teacher

linda-may13Linda graduated at the Middlesex University in Business Information Systems with Combined Studies and has also obtained an NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.

She has worked for several years as a teacher in Nursery and Early Years schools in London.

Elfrey Merlica – English Nursery teacher

merlica-may13Merlica is fully qualified in Childcare Education.

Gentile Gloria – EYFS Co-ordinator and Italian Nursery teacher

gloriaGloria joins us with a Graduate Diploma in Education/Pedagogy and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University Bicocca of Milan.

She has several years of experience as a Nursery/Early Years Teacher both in Italy and the UK and has also worked in two International Schools in Italy and Malaysia.

Sbicca Alessia – Italian Reception teacher

alessiaAlessia has a BA in Oriental Languages and Cultures, an MA in Teaching Foreign Languages and a Ditals Certificate (to teach Italian as a foreign language).

She has experience as a Nursery Teacher and an Italian and Chinese Teacher. Since 2014 she has been working as an Italian Teacher for the Department of Education of the Italian Consulate.


Batista David – English KS2 TA and Learning Support Assistant for EAL and IAL (English/Italian as additional language)

IMG_6020David has a BA in ESHTE (Higher Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Studies, Lisbon) and a MA in International Relations (University of Sussex). He has also the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages).

He has worked both as a Teaching Assistant and as a Teacher for EAL (English as an Alternative Language) in several London Primary Schools.

Blows Emily – English KS1 TA

emilyEmily has a BA (Hons) French and Italian from the University of Hull.

She has worked as private tutor of English and as interpreter translating from Italian and French to English.

Boschi Franca – Italian EYFS TA

franca-may13Franca graduated as a Nursery and Early Years school teacher in Bologna (Italy) and when she arrived in London she obtained the NVQ level 2 in Childcare Education at Westminster College.

She worked as a teacher of Nursery and Early Years schools in Bologna (Scuola Pianoro and other state schools) and Rome (Gioca e Crea, for which she was responsible for the opening of the Nursery and Early Years School). In London she was a teacher for Early Years and Nursery in the Little House Nursery and Lancefield Nursery.
She also currently teaches Italian at Francis Holland School to GCSE and A-level students.

Gregorio Mariana – English KS2 TA

marianaMariana possesses a BA in Italian from the University of Reading and a Certificate in teaching Italian as a foreign language.

She has experience in teaching both English and Italian as foreign languages.

She has experience as a childminder, EYFS educator and teaching assistant both in Italy and the UK.

Bonacci Fabrizio – Specialist Guitar teacher

fabrizioFabrizio has been teaching classical, acoustic and electric guitar as well as music theory and harmony to children (both individually and in groups) for over 10 years.

His teaching experience covers a variety of different levels, from beginners to advanced learners. When appropriate he can also prepare students for external exams.

Haimiche Souheila – Specialist French teacher

souheliaSouhelia has a Bachelor’s degree in Languages from the London Metropolitan University and has been working as a French and Spanish teacher in both primary and secondary schools in London.

She is also a translator and interpreter in French, Spanish and English.

Manfrini Emanuela – Specialist Art Teacher

emanuela manfrini Emanuela graduated in architecture in Venezia (IUAV) and obtained a Post – Graduate degree in Building Conservation at the Architectural Association in London.

She worked as a freelance architect in Italy and in London with the BBC’s Architectural Department , Chapman Taylor and Partners and Patricia Brock Associates.
She now works for the Charity LIGCA, the London International Gallery of Children Art.

Rolt Dawn – Specialist Music Teacher and piano, recorder and singing teacher

dawnDawn has been a primary music teacher for over 25 years. For many of these years she taught at Pembridge Hall School, whilst also setting up and running music departments in two other emerging London day schools.

She is a keen singer and recorder player and regularly accompanies children on the piano in concerts and exams. In addition to teaching at the Italian School, she has a private practice, directs three children’s choirs and teaches part time in a local Catholic state school.

Wanat T. – Specialist Violin teacher

profiloMr. Wanat has been teaching in schools for over 10 years.

He prepares students for external exams when appropriate and is equally happy working with beginners and advanced learners.

Carla has worked as a marketing assistant and trade analyst in several companies in Italy and Spain.

Rosset Lara – Office Assistant

Before coming to us she worked as an office assistant and apprentice business administrator in London.

Randazzo Jenny – Chef

jenny-may13Jenny has NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality and Professional Cookery and NVQ Level 3 in Supervising Food Safety in Catering and a certificate in Nutrition For Children.

She worked as Chef and Head Chef in restaurants and came to us from running a restaurant in a Garden Centre just outside London.

Jenny earned the highest accolade for our kitchen from the hygiene inspector who awarded her the full 5 stars.

San Lorenzo Ronnie – School Caretaker

ronnieBefore coming to us Ronnie was working for several years as a general porter and then hospital assistant at the Portland Hospital of London.

He has a NVQ Level 1 in Food Safety for Catering.

Solazzo Paolo – School General Assistant

paoloPaolo studied at the Istituto Albeghiero Paolo Borsellino in Palermo. In London he obtained his SIA (Security Industry Authority) door supervisor licence from Green Man Security and NVQ Level 2 in Food Safety for Catering.

He has worked for six years at an Italian restaurant in Surrey and before joining SIAL he worked as a SIA security officer.
